| The
Basic Keelboat Class teaches the fundamentals of
sailing. It is covered in 2 sessions of challenging
fun and education. Sailors will begin learning to sail a
boat of about 20-25 feet in length in light to moderate
winds and sea conditions in familiar waters without
supervision. A preparatory Standard with no auxiliary
power or navigation skills required. The 2 sessions are comprised of 2 days of on the water training. The first part of the course begins in the classroom where we cover Sailing Knowledge. The remainder of this class is on the water hands-on learning. Class times: 9 AM to 6 PM first day, 10 AM to 6 PM second day.
For the three day weekday course, class will meet 9 AM on the first day, 10 AM the next two days. Cost of three day class: $551/person.
Cancellation Policy; A full class credit will be issued to you if for any reason you must cancel your sailing class. Credit is good for two years after the first date of enrollment. Credits are transferable to friends or family members. Cash refunds are granted if you purchased Refund Insurance (see below).
Refund Insurance; Unexpected events sometimes arise and force us to change our plans. Sailing Ventures offers our sailing students Refund Insurance for $45 per class and per student--due at the time of enrollment. Refund Insurance entitles you to a full refund of class tuition should you cancel your enrollment more than 14 days prior to the start of your class. If you cancel within 14 days of the start of your class, you will receive a full credit of your tuition valid for 2 years from your original class date. Credit is transferable to friends and family members, and is good for all Sailing Ventures classes.
