Since 1993 Sailing Ventures has been teaching people the art and science of sailing. Our students are sailing all over the world using the skills they learned on our boats and in our classes.

WHAT'S NEW

Two hour class packs; get more personalized instruction with a small group on the sailing skills you want. Work on docking, tying to a mooring, sailing skills, reefing, heaving-to, crew overboard drills, and more. Pricing: 22ft sailboat: $40/person/class for a 2-class pack; $35/person/class for 3-class pack; $30/person/class for a 4-class pack. 27-32ft sailboat: $60/person/class for a 2-class pack; $55/person/class for a 3-class pack; and $50/person/class for a 4-class pack.

Sunset Sails available! Enjoy the evening on the water with a small group, or just your friends and family. Dates/Times: Friday-Saturday-Sunday nights 6-8PM. Price: $69/person.

Take a look at our Sailing Club. It is the simplest, most affordable access to our Fleet of sailboats. We have added several Sailing Clubs in California with whom we now share reciprocal sailing club rates!

What is it like to sail at Tahoe? Summer lake winds are variable, typically gentle north winds in the morning, becoming stronger in the afternoon/evenings and swinging out from the west/southwest. The challenge lies in the unpredictability from one moment to the next and you will learn to read the wind on the water as you sail Tahoe. On the real windy days, gusts can get up to 40+ knots and waves heights to match! Our school is located on the southwest corner of the lake and so enjoys some protection from most heavy winds, making it the most ideal location for teaching sailing.
